Hello MS Families,
A few more updates for you as we all prepare for the first day of the 2019-2020 school year. Also, please refer to the important dates and information from last week's update and listed again below for quick reference.
New This Year!!
Lobby Guard - the District has instituted a new security measure to help keep our students safe - beginning on the first day of school, ALL visitors will be required to show a valid id - driver's license or an equivalent form - to enter the building. The valid identification card will be scanned and screened for identification of registered sexual offenders. A visitor badge with photograph will be issued by the Main Office. Your identification card will be returned to you upon your exit from the building. This will allow the building staff to more accurately monitor a visitor's entrance and exit from the building.
Stop It App - The Stop It app is a reporting tool and an anti-bullying measure adopted by the District. Parents and students will be able to download the free app and anonymously report to District leadership cases of inappropriate behavior and activities and situations where adult help is needed. Look for more information soon.
School Bus GPS - The District has purchased a new app that will allow the District and parents to track school buses in real time. GPS devices have been installed in all buses and the Transportation Department is currently working on uploading all the information necessary to allow the app to work. The school buses must actually "run" their routes for several weeks to obtain all the necessary data. The District expects to have the app up and running by October. More information to follow.
Your PSO Presidents,
Denise and Kerry
